1. What is an e-bike?
An e-bike, or electric bike, is a bicycle equipped with an electric motor that assists with pedaling. This makes it easier to ride, especially on hills and longer distances. So, it’s pretty perfect for our beaches, and crossing the bridges into downtown (in the designated bike lanes).
2. How long can I rent an e-bike?
We offer both day and overnight rentals. Day rentals are for a full 8-hour period, and overnight rentals cover a 24-hour period, allowing you to ride through the evening and into the next day. If you’re interested in booking for an entire weekend let us know when booking!
3. How do I book an e-bike rental?
You can book an e-bike rental through our website or by calling our customer service line. Reservations are recommended, especially during peak seasons. Our availability will always be posted and does fluctuate.
4. Do you deliver the e-bikes?
Yes, our Beach E-Bike representatives will deliver the e-bikes to your specified location. They will verify your identity, provide a brief tutorial, and go over the pickup details.
5. What do I need to rent an e-bike?
You need to be at least 21 years old with a valid ID and drivers license. A credit card is also required for the security deposit at time of booking and is goes toward the cost of your rental.
6. How far can I travel on a fully charged e-bike?
Our e-bikes typically offer a range of 20-45 miles on a full charge, depending on the level of assistance used, terrain, and rider weight.
7. How do I charge the e-bike?
We provide a charger with each overnight e-bike rental. The renter must remove battery at night and bring bike and battery indoors and out of wet or precipitous environment.
8. What should I do if the e-bike has a problem?
If you experience any issues with your e-bike, contact our customer service immediately. We offer roadside assistance and can provide a replacement bike if necessary and available.
9. Are helmets provided?
Yes, we provide helmets with every e-bike rental. We strongly recommend wearing a helmet for your safety. Feel free to bring your own helmet though!
10. Can I ride the e-bike on the beach?
E-bikes can be ridden on designated bike paths and roads. Riding on soft sand is not recommended as it can damage the bike and make pedaling difficult.
11. What happens if I return the e-bike late?
Late returns may incur additional fees. Please refer to our rental agreement for specific details on late charges.
12. Can I cancel or reschedule my rental?
Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your rental up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup time. Please contact our customer service for assistance. Please note that if you cancel rental within 1-3 hours of pickup time you will not be refunded your security deposit.
13. Do you offer group discounts?
Yes! We offer group and extended rental discounts! Please contact us at cruising@beachebikerental.com for more information on group rates and availability.
14. What if it rains on the day of my rental?
In case of severe weather, we offer flexible rescheduling options and can give you a rain check or refund your security deposit. Please note we will not refund your booking if you have received e-bike and got caught in a downpour. We can’t always predict Mother Nature, but encourage everyone to embrace the spontaneity of weather. Please contact us to adjust your rental period if needed.
15. Are pets allowed on the e-bikes?
For safety reasons, we do not recommend bringing pets on the e-bikes.
